T-Mobile, can a brother get some 3G love?
I have been a loyal T-Mobile customer for many years, now. I admit, the customer service is good and they have a nice variety of phones. I love my G1 and know that they are willing to cut a good deal on phones. But, with all that being said, I am still not happy. We live in the broadband age and, living in Cincinnati, I am still stuck on a 2G network (EDGE) that keeps me from using many of the features on my phone.
So, you would think that I would be thrilled to know that T-Mobile is upping the stakes by planning to roll out what would likely be considered the fastest network in the U.S., at least in the short term. According to T-Mobile, they are planning to upgrade their 3G network to a data transfer rate of 21Mbps. This would put them at nearly three times the rate of AT&T's proposed upgrade.
They are doing this because other companies are moving to 4G networks and will likely break this speed barrier with room to spare.
However, for me, this is not good news. T-Mobile has yet to announce a 3G rollout in my city so, news of this upgrade rings a little hollow to me. In the meantime, I am paying for a data plan and feeling like I'm not getting my money's worth.
So, how about it T-Mobile...when's Cincy going to feel the love?
