For goodness' sake, it's a netbook!
A few months ago, I purchased an Asus EEEPC, something that is commonly referred to as a netbook. I already had a desktop, an HP notebook and an older PC that I use as a test web server. The reason I bought a netbook was that I can do quick tasks with it. Also, the fact that it weighs only 3 pounds and gets battery life of around 6-7 hours is great when I need to be on the go.
The point is, I know that a netbook is not the same thing as a full-blown notebook.
Unfortunately, not all the public knows this.
In a study performed by the marketing company NPD, it was discovered that there is a high level of confusion among consumers about netbooks.
Many who bought them believed that they were getting computer that was going to perfom at the same level as a full-blown laptop.
Well, let me clear this up here. If you just need to browse the internet, send email, do voice or video chat or other lighter tasks, a netbook is great. However, if you need to do development, play the latest games, do heavy development work, etc., you might be better off with a true notebook.
Personally, I love my netbook but, I also purchased knowing why I was getting it. As with anything, do your homework because you could ending making a purchase with which you could be terribly unhappy.
