Sony finally faces reality
All I can say is that it's about time!
The company that said "never" now says "well...ok"
What I am talking about is Sony FINALLY cutting the price for the Playstation 3. Effective immediately, the 80GB PS3 will retail for $299. If you wait a month, you can get the new, slimmer 120GB PS3 for the same price. Or, if you have money to burn, you can pay $399 for the 160GB PS3 (actually, that's no real bargain because you can get a 320GB hard drive for about $70 and put in in yourself).
At any rate, Sony had to face reality and deal with the fact that, while having a powerful platform and being an entertainment hub, the Wii and Xbox 360 are eating Sony's lunch.
With the price point, it does make it competitive with the WII that is only $50 less and makes it a better value than the Xbox 360 Pro.
So, finally, the price cut came. As a PS3 owner, I hope it didn't come too late.
